Welcome, Alexis!
Thank you for trusting planDisney with your important Walt Disney World Resort trip-planning question. Most importantly, thank you for your family's service. A world of magic awaits you during the
50th Anniversary Celebration, so let's talk about the process for activating your tickets.
Disney Military Salute tickets offer incredible savings for Eligible Service Members and their families. The tickets you purchased need to be activated at a theme park or water park ticket window, or at any
Guest Relations location, including the
Disney Ticket Center at Disney Springs. When it works with my family's schedule, we prefer to activate our tickets the day before our first park day so we're ready to head straight into the park. Guest Relations windows located outside of the theme park entrances typically open about one hour before
park opening.
When activating your Disney Military Salute tickets, all adults should be prepared to show a photo ID and the Eligible Service Member and/or spouse must show a valid military ID. In my decade of experience with these magical tickets, my children have never been asked to show ID. There have been times the wait at Guest Relations was long so the kids and I got our wiggles out at a nearby location until I was called over to show ID.
You cannot enter a park until the tickets are activated, Alexis, but you can and should go ahead and
link your tickets to your
My Disney Experience account and make your
park pass reservations. When making park pass reservations, be sure to check the
theme park availability calendar first. Spring has sprung at Walt Disney World Resort and current trends suggest May dates may start to fill up in a few weeks.
Plan magic; planDisney.
