Hi! My husband was activated as a Disaster Service Worker through the City of LA during the Jan 2025 fires. Would he qualify for the Heroes Ticket under mutual aid assistance? I don’t see that as an option. Thank you so much!

Hello there, Jasmin! Thank you so much for reaching out to us here at planDisney. And more importantly, please extend our deepest gratitude to your husband for his brave service as a Disaster Service Worker for the City of LA during those terrifying fires in January. As a fellow Californian, I remember how frightening that time was, and while I was further north, many of my own friends and colleagues were impacted. Heroes like your husband truly make all the difference, and we're so thankful for his dedication.

It warms my heart to hear that the Disneyland Resort introduced a special Heroes Ticket offer as a way to say 'thank you' to many of the incredible individuals who responded to and assisted during the Los Angeles wildfires. It’s a small gesture for such immense efforts.

Regarding eligibility, I understand you're asking if your husband might qualify for his service. While the initial Heroes Ticket details highlight roles like firefighters, law enforcement personnel, and emergency medical technicians, it's also my understanding that the program was designed to be inclusive of others who played vital roles. The spirit of the offer was definitely to recognize a broad range of heroes, and it was mentioned that individuals from other departments providing that crucial mutual aid assistance could also be eligible. So, with your husband being activated as a Disaster Service Worker specifically for the City of Los Angeles during that time, it certainly sounds like he could potentially be eligible for this special offer.

Detailed information about the Heroes Ticket, including all the specifics on eligibility, any verification requirements, and how to register, was communicated directly to the qualifying fire, police, and sheriff’s departments, as well as other relevant agencies, back in April. Therefore, the very best first step would be for your husband to reach out to his leadership or supervising department within the City of Los Angeles. They would be the most likely to have the direct information and guidance on how to proceed if he qualifies. If, for some reason, they don't have the details he needs, then I'd definitely encourage him to call the Disneyland Resort Guest Information team and speak with a friendly Cast Member. They would be the next best point of contact to see if they can provide further clarification.

Jasmin, if you and your husband do get to enjoy a visit, and given his incredible service during the wildfires, there’s a special little spot on Main Street, U.S.A., that might hold some extra meaning for him—the Disneyland Fire Department. It’s not just a charming façade; it’s a tribute to firefighters everywhere. Inside Firehouse No. 105, you can see some historical firefighting equipment and photos. It’s a wonderful nod to the bravery and history of firefighting. There’s even a lovely article online that gives a little more insight into Disneyland's own Fire Department Public Safety Team.

After all of your husband’s hard work, a day of magic at the Disneyland Resort would be so well-deserved! I truly hope this information helps guide you, and that you and your husband are able to take advantage of this special offer.

    Have a magical day!
