Welcome to planDisney, Ashley!
With your Walt Disney World Resort arrival only a few weeks away, I bet the excitement is
really starting to set in. As it just so happens, you'll be visiting during one of my favorite times of the year –– Spooky Season! Between the adorable decorations, getting the chance to see your favorite characters dressed up in their own costumes, and
so many snacks, October visits always seem to come with an extra helping of frightful fun. And if you're anything like me and you're dying to try out all those seasonal flavors for yourself, you won't want to miss the
Disney Parks Blog Foodie Guide to Halloween –– it's filled with all the details about the delicious Halloween offerings you'll find throughout Walt Disney World Resort. Be sure to check it out before your upcoming visit!
The My Disney Experience mobile app is a must when it comes to navigating your Walt Disney World vacation, but whether or not each member of your traveling party uses their own app or leaves the planning up to one person really comes down to personal preference. For many years, I was the sole planner for our family, so my husband never felt like it was necessary to have his own My Disney Experience app or account. Since I was able to book dining reservations, make our
Genie+ Lightning Lane selections, and create Disney MagicMobile passes for our whole group, it worked well for me to handle all of that. However, during our last visit, my husband and our son spent some time alone in the parks, so he decided it was time to take the bull by the horns and jump into the digital world of Disney planning for himself. Since he would need to choose his own Lightning Lanes and wanted to take advantage of
Mobile Food and Beverage Ordering, it finally made sense for my husband to have his own account.
So, when it comes to deciding whether or not you and your husband both need your My Disney Experience app and account, here are the types of things I would consider. Will you be together throughout your trip and is it easier to have one person making plans? If so, one account should work just fine. Or, would you both like to have access to things like choosing your Lightning Lanes, placing mobile orders, and taking advantage of the
Mobile Checkout feature available in many merchandise locations? If this is the case, I really recommend each of your having your own account that you can access through the app on your individual mobile devices. Either way, you're in for plenty of Disney digital-planning magic during your upcoming visit!
