Hi there Allison, and welcome to planDisney!
Believe me, I understand what it can be like to want to
meet a Character that's rarer than most like our deal rabbit pal in blue shorts - Oswald the Lucky Rabbit! In fact, ever since
the Walt Disney Company regained the rights to Oswald that prompted little hints that appeared at Disney Destinations, he first made his
first in-person debut at Tokyo DisneySea in 2014 which was followed by
a continued presence over at Disneyland Resort later that year.
After reaching out to our friends in Entertainment, they let me know that unfortunately Oswald is not one of the Characters available to meet across any of the theme parks and at the current time we cannot share whether he'll be making any visits to Walt Disney World Resort any time soon. In the past he has hopped on by for various
runDisney appearances, Cast Member appreciation or
exclusive Disney Vacation Club Member events; with his
return to the big screen for the first time in almost a century there was even
an entire merchandise collection devoted to Oswald which I was personally hoping would signal a sighting around the theme parks during the Disney100 Celebrations! (As Character offerings can sometimes be suddenly announced without any warning nor prior notice, I always recommend
keeping an eye on the Disney Parks Blog for any official news in case anything related to Oswald does pop up.)
Despite living, working and hanging out among my Character pals as a Cast Member, It took me nearly a decade to
meet Oswald myself this past October at Disney California Adventure Park which in my opinion, is worth saving up for as a huge fan - especially with the way that
Character Experiences occur out there that feel spontaneous, surprising and delighting guests! In fact, I've personally flown out to California just to enjoy a day out there at the theme parks and found that it doesn't need to cost any more than a visit out to Walt Disney World Resort; here at planDisney we
