Have a huge delima. Coming 12/15, already paid and decided to upgrade from POR to a hotel on the monorail and can't decide between Contemp or Poly. Have an 11 and 8 year old. Can't find a reason to stay at one over the other. Please help and thanks!!

    Hi, Meredyth!

I love this question, because my 12 year old's favorite resort is Polynesian, and my 9 year old's favorite is Contemporary!

    Here are advantages of each:

POLYNESIAN:  Convenient to walk to TTC to get to Epcot, great view of Magic Kingdom Fireworks, beautiful tropical themes, and I just love the tiki torches at night.

CONTEMPORARY:  Love that you can walk to the Magic Kingdom, so much fun watching monorail zoom through lobby, super gift shops, great marina for boat rentals, super nice rooms.  The only downside to this resort is you feel a bit "out of the loop" if you are in the Garden Wing, the Tower Rooms are a much better location, but pricey.

OK, so what to pick?  My personal choice is Polynesian.  I like the views, the atmosphere, and the feeling that you never have to leave your resort with so much to do (or enjoy just laying by the beach or pool!)  I like to get rooms in the Samoa building that are right by the pool and very near the Great Ceremonial House.  The good news:  You can't go wrong with either resort!  But, if I had to pick, my vote is for Polynesian!  Good luck deciding.

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
