Hubs and i are traveling with our kids (7,3,11mo)(girls) and mil, fil, and their 2 kids (7,15)(girls) will not be staying onsite but want to come for 2-3 days. Any must-haves I should know about or things I must see? Open to all tips.

    Hi Alma,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! As daunting as it is to plan a trip for a large group, I love the excitement of planning any vacation to the Walt Disney World Resort!

First, be sure to create a My Disney Experience Account. Once you create this account, you can link your theme park tickets, dining reservations and Fast Pass+ selections. When you create the account, be sure to add your family members to your My Family & Friends List. Then, link all of their theme park tickets to the account. Once linked, you can easily make dining reservations and Fast Pass+ selections for the group.

Even though you are staying off property, I suggest that you make a few dining reservations in the parks. With a large group, it will be harder for you to find seating on the spur of the moment in table-service restaurants. And, given the ages of the children traveling with you, you will definitely want to do at least one character meal.  Some of our favorite restaurants are The Crystal Palace, Cinderella's Royal Table, Be Our Guest and Tusker House.

As an off-property guest with valid theme park tickets, you will be able to make Fast Pass+ selections 30 days in advance of your visit. Fast Pass+ allows you to reserve ride times for up to three initial attractions per park per day. So, if we plan to visit Magic Kingdom first, we would make three Fast Pass+ selections. Normally, we would choose Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Space Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Ride time windows are normally an hour. One Fast Pass+ allows you to ride once during that ride time window.

Alma, be sure to take an expedition on Pandora to experience Avatar Flight of Passage and catch the Happily Ever After fireworks show at Magic Kingdom. If you have time, also stop by the Star Wars attractions at Disney's Hollywood Studios!

Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
