Hubs & I will be taking our toddlers in a couple of weeks for the first time. I heard Ariel's Grotto was a good place to see most characters, but I saw that it's under construction right now. Do you know where else the characters will be at?

    Hello, Janette!

Thank you for visiting with your question about the Disneyland Resort. Yes, Ariel’s Grotto is currently closed during Pixar Pier enhancements in Disney California Adventure Park. However, don’t fret, because you can still meet several of your kids’ favorite Disney Princess friends at Royal Hall in Disneyland Park! Every day, Guests are welcome to visit for hugs, autographs and photos with beloved Disney royalty.

There are many other magical character interaction opportunities throughout the theme parks that will be a big hit with your little ones. Download the official Disneyland Mobile App so you can locate characters in the theme parks by checking the Characters tab. Minnie & Friends – Breakfast in the Park at Plaza Inn is a good choice for a hearty all-you-care-to-enjoy buffet of breakfast classics while visiting with Minnie and the gang without waiting in line as the characters visit your table for photos!

Goofy's Kitchen at the Disneyland Hotel also offers Character Dining, serving up a large selection of food for breakfast or dinner. At dinnertime you’ll find an all-you-care-to-enjoy buffet that includes a carving station, a full dessert bar and other hearty items. If you decide to enjoy brunch but don’t want to cut into your time in the theme parks, consider booking a reservation at 7:00 a.m. What better way to start a magical day than with Mickey waffles? Dining reservations are recommended and can be made online or by calling (714) 781-DINE.

Once you arrive, be sure to pick up complimentary “1st Visit” celebration buttons from Guest Services to add a little extra magic to your vacation. I hope this helps you plan, Janette, and that you have a pixie dust-packed vacation at the Happiest Place on Earth with your husband and young Mouseketeers!

    Wishing you magic,
    Courtney
