Hi Carol!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! You sure do know a lot about Walt Disney World Resort's
Theme Park Parking Lots. I'm going to guess you're a DisNerd super fan, an Annual Passholder, or maybe even a former Cast Member. Either way, I think you should definitely apply to
join us here on the Moms Panel!
I think it's actually really admirable that you don't want to abuse the power of your husbands plates when it seems like so, so many would do some not-so-magical things to get a blue temporary handicap hang tag to score primo parking. I don't actually have a recommendation that doesn't seem silly. Since it sounds like you visit often, I'm sure it must get old, or seem like you're *that person* holding up the line for everyone else. But I kind of like that these Parking Lot Cast Members are trying to ensure that if you did need a closer spot in the
Disability Parking area that you didn't accidentally get overlooked. And if anyone behind you doesn't like the momentary hold-up should you need to stop the line to speak with someone, whew, I'd love to see their reactions once inside the parks.
You could make a small sign that you keep in your car that reads "not handicapped today" or "regular parking, please" to flash when someone first notices these plates. Or you could try to befriend these Cast Members - in my mind you hand out pieces of candy when you talk with them, to help them remember who you are, and they'll give you a cool nickname like 'Candy Carol'. I'd hate to say "don't drive your husband's car", because every now and then I'll switch vehicles with my guy just to use his heated seats, so I can't talk. But, if you're truly tired of the hassle, maybe look up a car accessory shop as I know that there are license plate products out there that car buffs use when at car shows.
I'm sorry I didn't have any better solutions for you, Carol. Maybe one of the above will help, and if anything, you'll always be super duper Mouseketeer in my book for not wanting to take advantage of those powerful plates. We'll See You Real Soon!
