My hubby and I will be at WDW Jan 8-13 (leave early am 1/14) with our son (4). The *main* purpose of the trip is for me to run the "Dopey Challenge" but we also want some fun family time. Need help with an approp. itinerary that takes races into

    Hi Candice!

Wow!  The Dopey Challenge!  It's going to be here soon:)  I hope your training is going well!

It is always fun to have the kids at race weekends, but it can present a bit of a planning challenge.  It will be especially important to have a plan since you will be running on four consecutive days.

The first thought that I had was for your husband and son to have some "bonding time" at the parks or resorts while you nap after your races.  (especially on that Saturday and Sunday)  I remember when my oldest son was 4 and we were there for a work conference for my husband.  My son and I played all day at the parks, and my husband met us when his work was done each night.  It was a very fun and magical trip for me.  We did exactly what my son wanted to do and with just two of us, we were able to navigate easily at a leisurely, "stop and smell-the-roses" pace.

It may be fun for your son to help you with his plans.  He will feel very important as he decides which parks he wants to do on each day, and where he would like to eat.  You can plan to rest up for a bit and then meet them.  On Thursday and Friday, you won't be as tired, so I would plan to meet them earlier in the day on those days.  Just be sure to get in bed early!!

I hope this helps you with your plans!  Please let me know if you have any other questions.
