Hi there, Miranda, and welcome to planDisney! I'm so glad that you've stopped by today to ask this great question about how to plan for your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort vacation! It sounds like you have an amazing celebration in store, and I'd love to help you sort through your options so you can make the best decision for you and your husband.
Miranda, let me start by saying, "Happiest Anniversary and Happiest Birthday!" How exciting to celebrate two incredible occasions at once, and at the Most Magical Place on Earth! Disney's Riviera Resort is so romantic and peaceful - the perfect anniversary retreat. It's a quick Skyliner ride to EPCOT, and you'll have a blast at the
EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival!
If you're wondering whether Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is worth it, I think it's a resounding YES! I recommend taking it easy the morning of the party with a leisurely brunch and a few hours at your Disney Resort Hotel pool. As soon as Magic Kingdom Park is open to party-goers (this is usually a couple of hours before the party actually starts), head over and get your wristband. You'll notice that the crowds will start to get thinner as the evening progresses. You'll love the shorter wait times for many of the attractions and the incredible entertainment. Here are a few tips that I wish I'd paid better attention to, before my first visit to
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party:
- Have fun with a costume, but make sure it's not too hot! September in Florida is still very warm!
- Arrive as early as possible to take advantage of your time in Magic Kingdom Park
- Be prepared to get a LOT of candy
- Make sure to watch Mickey's Boo-To-You Halloween Parade (the Headless Horseman is chillingly good!)
- Enjoy the Hocus Pocus Villain Spectacular at Cinderella Castle and sing along!
Don't forget to stop by the Front Desk at Riviera to ask for a Happily Ever After and an It's My Birthday complimentary button! Cast Members throughout Walt Disney World Resort will love having the opportunity to give you their best wishes.
Miranda, I think your Anniversary/Birthday celebration trip sounds like it's going to be amazing! If you'd like any recommendations on other ways to make it a memorable vacation, please stop back by anytime!
Happy celebrating!
Jennifer
