My hubby & I are thinking of taking our 1st cruise ever--to Alaska in July. If the ship returns on a Mon in Vancouver, what's the earliest time we should book our flight to return home that same day? We need to get back home by that evening.

    Welcome aboard, Michele!

How exciting to hear that you are thinking of sailing with Captain Mickey for the very 1st time. The Disney Cruise Line offers such a great combination of relaxation, world class entertainment and lots of fun, all rolled into one. There is something for everyone and you will surely have lots of magical moments that your family will cherish for a lifetime.

The Alaskan voyage aboard the Disney Wonder is an awesome itinerary. The beauty of Alaska is incomparable. It is jaw dropping and simply mesmerizing! You will absolutely enjoy cruising from lovely Vancouver and visiting the beautiful ports of Alaska. This is a cruise that is totally different from any other cruise around the world.

On the way home, I would suggest taking a flight out of the Vancouver (YVR) Airport anytime after 12:30pm. This should allow you the time to still enjoy the morning with a leisurely sit down breakfast and enough time to get yourself ready to disembark. You can also take the time to say, 'see ya later' to your dining team and stateroom host/hostess. Once the ship is cleared by customs (around 8am), and you collect your bags in the port, you'll also need to plan on ground transportation from the Canada Place Cruise Terminal to the airport. You will be traveling through the downtown Vancouver area to get to the airport, and there could be morning traffic.

Our family really enjoyed visiting Alaska, and we absolutely love sailing with Disney. Here's a quick video to share with you and your family to give you an idea of what to expect when you go on a Disney Cruise. If you check out the rest of the YouTube videos, there are Alaska planning tips there too.

I hope this helps, Michele. Please come back  should you have any additional questions about sailing with Disney.

    Have a pixie dusted day,
