Hi, my hubby and I are taking our 4(will be 5 at time of vacation) to DW the week of Christmas. Is the park open Christmas day? Can you tell me the best place to start planning my stay? This is our very 1st family vacation. and btw my son is autisic.

    Hi Monique!

Thank you for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Mom Panel. You must be so excited for your family's first Walt Disney World vacation. The holiday season is a positively magical time to visit Disney. You will be happy to know all Walt Disney World theme parks will be open on Christmas day.

Now that you know when you plan to visit Walt Disney World, it's time to start researching which resorts work best for your family. There are Disney resorts for every budget and family size. Disney's Resort website outlines all your options and includes lots of picture so you can get a great idea of what each resort has to offer.

Walt Disney World has taken many steps to help all guests with cognitive disabilities have the best experience ever. For more information about the services available to guests with these disabilities please check out this planning document. There is also a great deal of information on the Services for Guest With Cognitive Diabilities page.

I hope this helps you begin planning your magical Disney vacation. If you have any more questions please come back and see us.

    Have a pixie-dusted day!
