Jeanie from MI Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

Hubby & I are staying 2 weeks at AKL (our southern home) in Nov. We have the Magic Your Way package & I have made our park reservations for our 9 days. What else do I need to do? I want to make sure I am staying up to date on everything! TIA!

    Jambo Jeanie!

Thank you so much for sending us your question, and welcome back to planDisney! As a fellow Disney's Animal Kingdom lover, I am so excited to hear that you will be staying at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, and I am thrilled to be answering your question today. I got the chance to stay at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge a few times, and it honestly never ceases to amaze me. The proximity to the animals, the breathtaking decor and the incredible food options always make the experience extraordinary.

You are a true Disney pro, Jeanie! I am happy to say that you have done everything right and are all set for your magical vacation. Since your reservations are already linked to your My Disney Experience account, we can get into the fun stuff - activities and dining experiences! Now "twende," which is Swahili for "Let's go!" First, I would highly recommend that you book a reservation at Sanaa. Not only is their famous bread service incredible, but I still have dreams about those samosas! If you are a spice lover, the samosas are definitely a must-try. Speaking of food, make sure to get some Zebra Domes at the Mara, as a dessert at Boma - Flavors of Africa, or the merchandise store in the lobby. Zebra Domes are my number one favourite treat at the Walt Disney World Resort, and I cannot recommend them enough! If you have a sweet tooth and love the taste of coffee, these delicate and beautiful mousses are made for you.

Outside of treats, you should absolutely look into booking the Wild Africa Trek at Disney's Animal Kingdom. I was so excited when Disney announced that the Wild Africa Trek was coming back, and I could not recommend it enough! Located right next to the Kilimanjaro Safaris at Disney's Animal Kingdom, between the Stand By entrance and the Lightning Lane entrance, the Wild Africa Trek is an incredible way to get a closer look at some of your favourite animals. There is nothing quite like walking alongside crocodiles and hippos, going through the savanna in your private truck, and having a delicious snack while overlooking the savanna. And did I mention all the POG juice you could want? The Wild Africa Trek would be the perfect addition to your wild vacation!

I hope this was helpful, Jeanie, and that you have the best day ever on your next Disney vacation! If you have any other questions come up in the time leading to your trip, don't hesitate to reach out. We are always happy to help. Harambe means "teamwork" in Swahili, and you genuinely have a team here who is always willing to answer your question!

Have a magical day, and as they say in Disney's Animal Kingdom, kwaherini!
