Hubby & I are staying at AKL for 12 days. Do suggest that we pack enough clothes or should we do laundry? I don't mind doing laundry on 1 of our non park days. Please advise! TIA!

Hey there Jeanie and welcome back to planDisney!

You and your Prince Charming are getting closer and closer to celebrating 25 years of your happily ever after at the Walt Disney World Resort. And 12 days at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge sounds like an absolute once upon a dream. I just came back from a 10-day split stay between Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside and Disney's Beach Club Resort and as a chronic over-packer, I'm happy to tell you what works for me.

With one large suitcase and some careful camp rolling, I pack more than enough clothes to last me the duration of my vacation and never repeat an outfit. If you're a park-hopping fashionista like me, I recommend preparing an outfit for your first park of the day and a second outfit to change into after your midday nap and refresh. If you're a little more chill than me you can pack a whole lot less and make it work just fine. Either way, you can definitely still take advantage of the laundry services at your resort if for no other reason than to avoid having to do all of that laundry when you get back home!

Jeanie, I'm wishing you and Prince Charming all the best on your magical stay. Don't end your getaway at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge without an Advance Dining Reservation at Jiko - The Cooking Place. I just dined here for the first time and it's a meal I won't soon forget. If you have any other questions, please feel free to come back for another chat!

    Happy planning!
