Hubby & I stayed at POR for honeymoon in Sept & are bringing my stepdaughter to DW in May. We wanted a different resort this time & picked CBR. Is it worth it to pick a pay for a pref room? Also I have been told to request Martinique, thoughts?

Hi Angela!  Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.  The question of whether or not it is worth it for a preferred room at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort is a personal one.  You will need to decide if proximity to Old Port Royale; shops and food court,  or the main themed pool are important to you.  If you think you will be spending a lot of time at these places, or visiting them frequently, then you may want to consider spending the extra money for the preferred rooms.  I would request Martinique 24, 25 or 26 or Trinidad North 31, 32 or 33.  If you decide not to opt for the preferred room, I would request Jamaica 45 (which I have stayed in and thought was a great location) or Aruba 51.  Please keep in mind that requests are just that, and are not guaranteed.  Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort is a very large, spread out resort. You need to decide if you don't opt for a preferred room, and you don't get your request, would you be happy in one of the further sections such as Barbados or Trinidad South - those would require an internal bus to reach the main areas.

I hope this has given you some information that you can use to make your decision.  If you have any more questions, please come back to the Moms Panel and ask me - it would be my pleasure to help.  Have a magical day, and enjoy your Walt Disney World vacation!
