Hubby & I are planning a trip in October. How is the Port orleans riverside compared to french quarter? It will just be us. We've never stayed there (always stayed at Pop) and also can you hear the noise from downtown Disney?

    Hi Jessica,

I'm so glad you stopped in again with your question for the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I love taking adults-only vacations to Walt Disney World Resort!

I have stayed at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside and Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter and love them both! Riverside is a larger resort and is more spread out than French Quarter, so there's usually a little more walking involved in getting to your room or to Riverside Mill Food Court. I absolutely love the architectural design of the buildings and the beautiful landscaping, so I enjoy walking around the property. French Quarter is a quant resort with tons of details reminiscent of New Orleans like cobblestone streets and gas lanterns. Since this resort is smaller, there's usually a little less walking which can be nice after a busy day at the parks. Both resorts have a quick-service dining location and a lounge where you can relax and enjoy a hurricane or other specialty drink.

One of my favorite things to do while staying at Port Orleans Resort is taking a horse-drawn carriage ride along the bank of the Sassagoula River. It's so peaceful and relaxing after a busy day! Downtown Disney is a short boat ride away from either resort but don't worry, you won't hear a thing. It's great to be able to hop over there so quickly for some shopping or dinner.

Regardless of which one you choose, I'm sure you'll enjoy every minute of your stay. If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask.

    Have a magical day!
