My hubby is not too keen on having our days planned out by ADRs, so do you have any suggustions on "hidden gems" to where we could have a nice dinner without worrying about an unmanagable with a 15 mth old, We have purchased the basic dining plan

    Hi Shshauna,

What may help you with dining is to first consider eating at off-peak times, such as late breakfast/early lunch or mid-afternoon.  You may be pleasantly surprised to find more options available to you for walking up without a reservation.  If you are hoping to have a meal with characters, however, I would encourage you to consider making at least one character meal reservation since those meals book up quickly and are more difficult to obtain by walking up without a reservation.

To see a list of "hidden gems," www.mousesavers.com actually has a thorough list and other hints to help visit WDW without reservations.  Once at the website, click on Walt Disney World. Then, click on Meals, Snacks, & Drinks. The first entry under this section is about Advanced Dining Reservations with the option to Click for more details, tips, and tricks for making Advanced Dining Reservations.  You'll want to click on this spot. Then scan down the page a bit until you see Don't Want to Make Reservations - which is the article you'll want to read that includes suggestions about specific restaurants.

With some flexibility and patience, I think you should be fine and possibly get to experience some restaurants you may not have originally thought of -- especially if you aren't visiting during a peak time.

Thank you for visiting the Moms Panel; please let us know if we can help again!
