Congratulations on your ten year anniversary coming up this fall!
The Grand Floridian is a beautiful resort and often the first choice of those celebrating anniversaries and weddings and honeymoons. The rooms with water views will be more expensive so if you are not planning a lot of time in your room then I would suggest you reserve the less expensive priced one for that resort. The three most expensive components to a Disney vacation are the cost of your park tickets, your lodging, and your dining. You can cut your ticket cost down some by not buying the park hopper option and only planning on visiting one park a day. I love to park hop and know that being so close to the Magic Kingdom this might be more difficult to not be tempted to hop on the monorail or boat to walk the park when you have free time.
You can budget with your dining. Check out the Disney dining plans and select one that you think will be perfect for you. If you choose to not use a dining plan you can find many great dining locations that will not empty the pocketbook for one meal. You can see many of the menus and general pricing for these at
www.allears.net and type in MENUS in the search box.
The Grand Floridian has many wonderful amenities right in the resort that you can enjoy. I especially love to sit in the lobby in the evenings and listen to the pianist or the small orchestra. The pools are beautiful and the grounds enticing for the short walks. For a longer walk you can head to the Polynesian resort via a nice path.
