Will be in HS in January and have Mama Melrose with 1st Fantasmic VIP seating. How important at that time of the year to have VIP for Fantasmic? Debating on cancelling the reservation and using the TS Credit elsewhere like at Crystal Palace.

    Hi Cindy,

Congratulations on your upcoming vacation! Only a few more sleeps and you will be making your happy memories with your loved ones!

I love visiting Walt Disney World in January. Typically the weather is mild and the crowd level is fairly low. There are usually 2 weekends in which the crowd level increases - Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend and Martin Luther King Jr Day/weekend. But even though more people are present during those two weekends, they certainly are still a wonderful time to visit. Last year I visited with my husband during marathon weekend and we experienced low wait times with the majority of attractions.

Personally I would opt for Crystal Palace over Mama Melrose. But I have to tell you that Crystal Palace is one of my favorite restaurants in all Walt Disney World and I make sure we dine there at least once during each vacation. You might consider paying out of pocket for one of your other restaurant reservations and keeping your Fantasmic! Dining Package as well as making a reservation for Crystal Palace. Occasionally with my own vacations I need "just 1 more" dining credit to round out my perfect vacation plan.  In that case, I simply look at which restaurant is the least expensive and pay out of pocket for it. Usually breakfast reservations are less costly than lunch or dinner. Also I suggest looking at the menus and meal pricing listed at AllEars.com for a general guide of pricing and then decide if you would like to pay out of pocket for one of your meals or change your reservations around.

Thank you for your question Cindy! Please come back and visit us again if you have any further vacation planning questions as you finalize your plans for your big trip.

    Have a MAGICAL vacation!
