Hi Vicki! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Let's get our Jedi mind powers together to visit that galaxy far, far away.
Like you, I'm looking forward to experiencing Star Wars Weekends at Disney's Hollywood Studios. And I'm afraid we've gone to the Dark Side: my husband and I will be wearing our Storm Troopers shirts, while our son will be sporting Darth Vader. With all the great events taking place, I'm really excited to join the fun!
I found a couple of websites that list the daily schedule of events, one at AllEars.net, and another at wdwmagic.com. It looks like the Legends of the Force Motorcade is only once per day, between 11 and 11:30 a.m., so none in the afternoon. I see from a previous question that you've purchased the Fantasmic! Dining Package, so you'll be attending the 9 p.m. performance. The show lasts about 25 minutes, and the Symphony in the Stars fireworks begins at 9:30. By the time you exit the Fantasmic! theater, you may have missed much of the fireworks show. If you can sit near the top of the theater, you may have a better chance of getting out and heading over to Hollywood Boulevard to catch the display. Any spot on Hollywood Boulevard should give you a good vantage point, but you may also have a good view from just outside the entrance gate if you can get there more quickly than you could if you walked down Sunset Boulevard after Fantasmic!
Here's what I suggest you do: when you get into line for Fantasmic!, find a Cast Member to chat with and ask him or her what they think is your best strategy for seeing both Fantasmic! and Symphony in the Stars. You might even get a special tip for viewing the show that we haven't thought of.
I hope this helps you with your planning, Vicki. There's a lot to pack into those busy Disney days, but I'm sure the Force will be with you!
Have a magical day,
Kathy K.
