Hello from across the pond, Elizabeth! Welcome to planDisney! Oh boy! I'm so thrilled to hear that you have a visit to the Happiest Place on Earth coming up very soon! I imagine you're counting down the days.
Thank you for your great question! Our family absolutely loves the
Disneyland Hotel! Open just a few months after Disneyland Park in 1955, the Disneyland Hotel holds that incredible Disney history with today’s modern style. You’ll be transported to paradise another world away, yet still only a five-minute stroll to the monorail station and Downtown Disney District.
You'll be happy to know, Elizabeth, that the
Disneyland Resort Hotel Front Desks are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Cast Members will be ready to greet you at Disneyland Hotel anytime! However, if you are arriving late for your check in, it is a good idea to note that on your reservation.
During your magical stay at the Disneyland Hotel make sure to request a wakeup call from your favorite Disney pal, slide down the iconic monorail water slides, and please don't forget to check out the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad diorama in the Frontier Tower Lobby. The diorama was built to a 1/4" to 1' scale of Frontierland's famous coaster and is a recreation of the original model used by Imagineers in the 1970s to create Big Thunder. It's incredible and my family, including two young sons, can't get enough of taking in every little detail.
I hope this information has been helpful, Elizabeth. As you're preparing for your visit to the Happiest Place on Earth, please stop by and
ask me another question anytime! I'd love to share more of my tips and recommendations for a truly magical time in Disneyland, like maybe my not-to-be-missed quick service snacks or some strategies to make sure you hit all your favorite attractions.
See you real soon!
Warmest wishes,
McCayla
