Howdy from Texas! We are planning to have Thanksgiving dinner at Disney this year. Plus-it's our 1st time visiting Disney world. What restaurant would yall recommend for 4 adults and 4 children -ages 4,7,7, and 8? Thank you for your feedback!

    Hey Howdy Hey Patricia,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! A first time visit to the Walt Disney World Resort during the holiday season is sure to be an unforgettable experience; you must be so excited! Be sure to get a "First Visit" Celebration Recognition Button for your entire family when you check-in at your Resort or at Guest Relations in any of the Theme Parks.

There are lots of fantastic Thanksgiving dinner dining options at the Parks and Resorts. One of my favorites is Liberty Tree Tavern in Magic Kingdom Park. The Restaurant resembles an 18th-century Patriot's home, so it's the ideal atmosphere for a Thanksgiving feast. The menu offers all-you-can-eat platters of turkey, brisket, pork, mashed potatoes, stuffing, veggies, and macaroni and cheese served family style. For dessert I suggest the Ooey Gooey toffee cake with caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream; it's the perfect ending to your holiday meal. Liberty Tree Tavern will be closed for maintenance starting July 6, 2015 but is currently scheduled to reopen on November 20, 2015 in time for Thanksgiving. You will need to call Disney Dining at (407) 939-1947 to see when (or if) you will be able to book an Advance Dining Reservation.
I would also recommend Yachtsman Steakhouse at Disney's Yacht Club Resort or Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in Epcot. Both Restaurants will have special Thanksgiving Day menu offerings in addition to some of their regular menu items.

Please keep in mind that Thanksgiving at the Walt Disney World Resort is a very busy time of year so make your Dining reservations as far in advance as possible. Reservations can be made 180 days prior to your Resort stay.

    Enjoy Your Magical Visit,
    Susan
