Ahoy there, Marc!
Welcome back to planDisney! A 14-night voyage through the Panama Canal
on the Magic is the kind of cruise that makes you start humming adventure music in your head before you even pack your bags. Let’s get your arrival plans sorted so the journey from runway to gangway is as smooth as a calm Caribbean morning.
For this sailing, ground transportation is currently offered only from George Bush Intercontinental Airport. That’s the airport officially on the map for transfers, so if you want everything handled in one neat package, that’s your best bet. For an extra-easy start, I’d suggest a pre-cruise stay at the
Houston Airport Marriott at George Bush Intercontinental. Staying right there keeps things simple and lets you roll straight from the terminal into vacation mode.
If your heart is set on staying closer to the port, options like The San Luis Resort or the Hilton Galveston Island Resort can be great choices. Just keep in mind that ground transportation isn’t offered from the airport to those hotels. You’d need to arrange a private transfer or third-party transportation, and then work directly with the hotel for a shuttle to the port on embarkation day. It’s a little more coordination, but very doable if you prefer waking up closer to the ship.
As for cost, the current one-way transfer from George Bush Intercontinental Airport is $45 per Guest. There’s also a round-trip option at $63 per Guest (subject to change), which
covers transportation from the airport to the port on embarkation day and from the port to San Diego International Airport on debarkation day. That round-trip option can feel a bit like letting Jiminy Cricket handle the logistics while you focus on the fun.
I hope this helps as you fine-tune the details of an already incredible adventure.
A Panama Canal sailing is one of those bucket-list journeys where the planning is part of the excitement, and you’re clearly on the right track.
Sea ya real soon with a little extra warmth, wonder, and Disney magic,
Dustin
