Hi Brenda!
Thanks for your question. I have yet to stay at
The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort, but it's certainly on my
Disney resort bucket list! :-) I've been to
The Campsites at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort a number of times to watch the
Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue (a fantastic show, by the way), and my family and I would always stroll around the resort area afterwards, before heading back to our own resort. Certainly a place I know you'll enjoy (and hopefully the same for me and my family some day)..
So when it comes to gratuities, I always advise guests to give what they deem is appropriate based on the service they receive. What one feels is fair to give may be entirely different for the next guest. Our family will leave a set gratuity each morning before leaving our resort hotel room, as opposed to leaving one large gratuity at the end. We do this because sometimes you never know if the housekeeper will be the same person for your entire stay.
I say use the same analogy as one does when tipping at restaurants. Determine as a family what you feel should be a standard gratuity to give daily. If we find that housekeeping service went exceptionally well (beyond our expectations), we'll leave a little more than the standard gratuity we settle on the following day. There have also been times when we've called the resort Front Desk to get the name of the housekeeper, to commend them for their excellent service. Other time, we've written letters when we've been "wowed" by exceptional housekeeping service. The choice is up to you! :-)
Hope your stay at
The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort is both magical and relaxing!
Terry
