Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Erin!
The silhouette I have from my daughter’s first visit to the Disneyland Resort is one of my most-prized possessions. So I absolutely love that you have a tradition of having silhouettes done each trip! The
Silhouette Studio on Main Street, U.S.A. typically opens about two hours after the park opens for general admission and is open until the park closes at night. In my experience though, there have been times when the artist is on break or lunch and will post a small sign when they will return. The studio itself is quite small, so once the silhouette is done, you might want to send the kiddos off with your partner to grab some ice cream at
Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor or to do some shopping while you wait for the silhouettes to be mounted and/or framed.
A fun tradition that my family has is picking out a new Christmas ornament each time we visit the parks. We like to choose one that is unique to the year or to the visit—like the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad ornament we have commemorating my daughter’s first roller coaster ride. Ornaments are sold in many shops year-round and the Castle Holiday Shoppe in Fantasyland has a nice assortment of holiday items. You can even have ornaments and other items personalized there.
I hope this information is helpful. See ya real soon!
