Welcome to planDisney, Mariajose! I'm so glad to hear that you have plans to attend a special event at Walt Disney World Resort this week. I'm assuming it's
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, one of my favorite seasonal events! It's the perfect way to get an early start to the holiday season, so let's chat about what happens if things don't go exactly to plan and the weather isn't ideal.
Mariajose, there typically isn't such a thing as "rained out" at Walt Disney World Resort. The Theme Parks usually operate rain or shine and the Party will continue while it's raining, as long as it's safe to do so. I spent a very rainy night at Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party several years ago, and it was a lot of fun even though it was pretty wet! If it is raining,
Magic Kingdom Park will not stay open later, and all events will take place as scheduled if it is possible. In the event of inclement weather, which is quite rare, it is possible that the Party may be canceled or Guests may no longer be admitted if it is raining too hard with no signs of stopping. This happened once earlier this year, and
Guest Relations did get in contact with affected Guests to work out a solution, so be sure to reach out in the extremely unlikely event that the Party gets cut short due to weather.
Have a magical day!
Jessica
