What hours will the Disneyland Monorail operate in July 2025? When I was there last August, the Monorail closed down for a few hours during the day. I am trying to see if the Monorail will shut down again during day when we are there.

    Hi Angela,

Thanks for visiting planDisney! The Monorail is a great way to get from Downtown Disney right into the heart of Disneyland’s Tomorrowland. It's also a wonderful way to sightsee across the Resort. Be sure to ask a Cast Member if there’s room in the nose of the Monorail—it offers a fantastic view!

The Monorail typically runs from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. This early closure allows time to prepare for the fireworks show. When Disneyland offers Early Entry, the Monorail begins operating at 7:30 a.m. You can check the daily schedule on the Disneyland website or the Disneyland app up to 40 days in advance to see if there are any planned Monorail closures. It’s also a good idea to check on the day of your visit for any temporary closures. I recommend asking a Cast Member stationed at the Monorail if they’re aware of any closures that day.

I see your visit begins on the official 70th Anniversary of Disneyland—how exciting! Angela, have you heard that the Main Street Cinema will be featuring a short film highlighting the legacy of Disney Legends Robert and Richard Sherman, also known as the Sherman Brothers? In honor of their contributions, starting on July 17, "It’s a Small World” will debut a new verse written by Richard M. Sherman.

Also beginning July 17, you’ll be able to visit the Opera House on Main Street, U.S.A., where a brand-new gallery experience will showcase Walt Disney’s dream of Disneyland and how it has transformed over the years. This exhibit will feature artifacts from the park’s early days as well as items from Walt’s life. At the end of the experience, don’t miss the new short film, "Walt Disney – A Magical Life.” It’s a must-see for any Disney history fan!

I hope this information helps, Angela! If you have any more questions, need help planning, or would like additional tips, don’t hesitate to reach out to me or any of my fellow planDisney panelists—we’d be honored to assist.
