If going to After Hour events at Epcot and Hollywood Studios, will MagicBand+ be useful? How many interactive activities available at After Hours in those parks and which night shows are included in After Hours (at both) that interact with MagicBand+ ?

    Hi Frances, welcome to planDisney!

Your MagicBand+ will continue to interact with the theme parks during your Disney After Hours events. You can begin your evening by viewing the nighttime spectaculars, like Fantasmic! and EPCOT Forever. If you look down at your MagicBand+ during the performance, you’ll see it lighting up along with the show.

The Disney Fab 50 Character Collection is still on display in all four theme parks. As you walk through the parks and find these golden character statues, stop and give them a wave! Your MagicBand+ will vibrate and light up, and you might even hear the character talk to you!

On some attractions, your MagicBand+ will vibrate and light up themed to the attraction. Although there is no confirmed list of which attractions will interact with your MagicBand+ in this way, I have experienced this on Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure on my most recent trip to Walt Disney World Resort.

In Disney’s Hollywood Studios, head to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge to join Star Wars: Batuu Bounty Hunters. This game requires you to download the Play Disney Parks app on your mobile device as well. Act as a Bounty Hunter throughout Black Spire Outpost and your MagicBand+ will guide you to finding your target. Your MagicBand+ will flash green as you get closer to your bounty, or flash red if you are moving further away.

Another important feature of your MagicBand+ is that it links your Disney PhotoPass attraction photos to your account. Some attractions do not have photo walls with touchpoints at the attraction exit and instead use your MagicBand+ and Bluetooth to collect the photos from your ride.

I hope this was helpful, Frances. Although using Disney MagicMobile Service is convenient, I prefer using my MagicBand+ in the theme parks because of the extra interactivity. Plus, there are so many cute designs to choose from!
