Hi there, Mike! Welcome to planDisney, where my pals and I are happy to have you sail our way.
How exciting that you'll be sailing next month from
Fort Lauderdale. My family was recently in Fort Lauderdale to experience the Disney Destiny. It was a magnificent vacation! While we decided to use a ride share so that we could leave on our own schedule, I do know that you have several options when it comes to getting from your hotel accommodations to the port.
Disney Cruise Line partners with Omni Fort Lauderdale Hotel, Fort Lauderdale Marriott Harbor Beach Resort & Spa, and Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina, and you can call Disney Cruise Line to request pre-cruise or post-cruise stays to be added to your reservation. You can also arrange for ground transfers from the airport to the hotels and to the port with Disney Cruise Line. If you are interested in this option, I'd advise you to
call Disney Cruise Line to make these selections soon, as space can be limited with ground transfers.
If you'd prefer to book a hotel on your own or are looking for a budget-friendly option, Hyatt House Fort Lauderdale Airport - South & Cruise Port offers complimentary airport shuttles and a shuttle to the cruise port for a fee. This is where my family stayed, and while it was nothing fancy, it was conveniently located and had lots of restaurants and shopping within close walking distance.
Mike, there are plenty more options, as Fort Lauderdale is a popular cruise port destination. If you have a preferred hotel chain, you'll probably find that one of them offers a shuttle to Port Everglades. It's always a great idea to call the hotel you are interested in booking to confirm their shuttle service options and how to book them, as sometimes the reviews or information found online can be out of date.
I'm wishing you a lovely voyage! Happy Sailing!
