Since the Disney Destiny will be sailing out of Port Everglades in
Fort Lauderdale, one of the biggest perks is how close the airport is to the cruise terminal. That means you have plenty of convenient hotel choices within just a couple of miles of the port. Disney Cruise Line recommends either the Fort Lauderdale Marriott Harbor Beach Resort and Spa or the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina, both known for their proximity, comfort, and reliable amenities.
I can also share from personal experience that I just sailed on the
Disney Destiny a couple of weeks ago, and we stayed at Pier Sixty-Six on the Intracoastal the night before embarkation. It felt like our vacation started early thanks to the beautiful pool area, relaxed resort atmosphere, and the delicious desserts we enjoyed after dinner. My best friend also chose to park her car for the week at the nearby Embassy Suites, and that property was inviting, convenient, and had easy access to both the airport and the port.
No matter where you choose to stay before or after your trip, I recommend taking a stroll along Las Olas Boulevard and enjoying some of the local cuisine (15th Street Fisheries is a personal favorite with a stunning view).
