Welcome to planDisney, Kimberly. It sounds like we have something in common, in addition to planning vacations to
Walt Disney World Resort. I always pack "hotel socks," which are regular socks but extras for the "sole" purpose of keeping my feet warm on hotel floors.
Disney resorts have many wonderful features and amenities, but for your feet, you'll need to pack your own slippers. Since you said "try and pack" in your question, I'll double down on my hotel socks comment. Slippers take space, but a pair of thick comfy socks tuck in your suitcase pretty easily. My other favorite sock trick is using the heel balm from
Savannah Bee Company. After all the steps in the parks, the heel balm and fluffy socks are a treat for your feet!
If you want a fun souvenir,
Just Fun Socks in Disney Springs has socks that are, well, just fun. While at Disney Springs, you can also check out
Stance for socks with high fashion and high performance. My favorite socks came from
Once Upon a Time in
Disney Hollywood Studios, but that has everything to do with them having socks with Chip and Dale.
If you want to bring your slippers, another trick is packing them in a gallon-size resealable plastic bag. You can squeeze all the air out of it so the slippers take up less space. I do this with all of my kids' outfits, packed by day to make getting ready in the morning easy. It also keeps my packing organized, and we have bags for damp swimsuits when heading home.
I was going to close this with funny jokes I know about pairs of socks, but I lost one.
Please come back to
planDisney with any other questions!
Cheers,
Jana
