Hiya Camille!
Welcome back again to planDisney! I see that you are thinking about where you want to stay during your visit to Walt Disney World Resort! You ask a great question as I always like to look at how convenient a Resort is to where I want to be.
There are three Resorts that are stops on the
Walt Disney World Monorail System. They are
Disney's Contemporary Resort,
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, and
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. These three Resorts surround the Seven Seas Lagoon and are the closest to Magic Kingdom Park. I have yet to stay at these Resorts but boy are they on my bucket list. Magic Kingdom Park is also my favorite Theme Park and I would love to be so close. Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Disney's Polynesian Village Resort also have
water transportation options such as a ferry which I love that can smoothly transport you across the lagoon to Magic Kingdom Park. Disney's Contemporary Resort is actually within walking distance of Magic Kingdom Park!
This "highway in the sky" monorail also connects to EPCOT but you will have to transfer at the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC). That's a fun ride as it zips you right around EPCOT itself before it deposits you at the park entrance. I also love that you don't have to fold up your stroller when riding it. Just roll right on and off you go.
My family loves riding the monorail and considers it an attraction on its own. It's smooth, relaxing, and a dream of Walt Disney himself.
While considering Resorts I would also suggest looking at any that are connected to the new
Disney Skyliner! There are four Resorts that have a station on this new gondola-style system and they are
Disney's Art of Animation Resort,
Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort,
Disney's Pop Century Resort, and
Disney's Riviera Resort. The Skyliners are adorable with fun designs on them and you can also just push your stroller right on without folding it up.
I hope this helps and if you have any more questions please let me know!
Happy Planning!
