Can a hotel room be decorated for a birthday child? I have a granddaughter with alopecia, but she wants to visit the Bibbity Bobbity Boo salon. What can they offer her in lieu of a hairstyle?

Royal greetings, Jan, and welcome to planDisney!

I’m so excited to hEAR that your granddaughter is planning to join the Fairy Godmother’s Apprentices for a royal transformation at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at the Disneyland Resort this October! My daughter received her own royal makeover a few years ago, and it was a magical day she and I will never forget! As you probably already know, the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique will reopen on August 25, 2022, and reservations will be available on Disneyland.com and on the Disneyland app starting in early August.

Though the website doesn’t mention an alternative to receiving the hairstyle portion of the Sample Packages, I did some online research to see what I could find. First, according to the Disney Parks Blog, the reopening of the Boutique will introduce even more options to choose from, including a new hair accessory designed for textured hair, and new costumes featuring new heroes and heroines coming later this year. So, hopefully we’ll hEAR more about these new options before your October visit, in case any of them may be helpful for your granddaughter. I also found some online forums where parents discussed purchasing a princess-inspired wig from the Boutique in the past, and other clip-in hair pieces. Though we don’t know exactly what the options will be upon reopening, I have a feeling the Fairy Godmother’s Apprentices will do everything in their power to make the occasion special for your Princess! As soon as booking information becomes available, I recommend checking this page for an updated phone number to call to ask about what options may be available for your granddaughter. Stay tuned to the Disney Parks Blog for details on when bookings will be made available in early August!

Also, as for decorating your Disneyland Resort Hotel room for your birthday Mouseketeer, unfortunately this service isn’t currently available. However, I’m hopeful that in-room celebrations will return in the near future, hopefully before your visit. My best recommendation is to keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog, and on the Disney Floral & Gifts link for any additional updates.

In the meantime, to prepare for this special birthday visit, you may want to check out shopDisney to score some of the latest Disney merchandise before your adventures begin. You could have items shipped to you at home, then wrap them up and pack them away for a special surprise for your family upon arriving at the Disneyland Resort! I recommend searching under the “Parks” tab to view the latest accessories, clothing, and home décor items specific to Disneyland Resort.

You may also want to check out the “Ear for Each Other” group on Facebook – I’ve found some wonderful small businesses offering unique balloon, flower, and dessert deliveries to the Disneyland Resort Hotels through this group!

I hope this information helps, Jan! Please stop by with any additional questions… we’re all EARs!
