When to make hotel reservations for large group July 2020

It's great to see you here today at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Karen!

I firmly believe that a lot of the excitement of a Walt Disney World Resort vacation is in the planning and organizing a large group can be lots of fun and doesn't have to be stressful. I definitely think that a little bit of work in advance can save a lot of trouble in the future and I'm happy to share my recommendations when it comes to making Resort Hotel reservations.

The short answer to your question is: start your booking as soon as you can! If you have a large group and you need a large number of Resort Hotel rooms, the sooner you are able to get your reservation started, the better. The benefits of staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel kick in at least 180 days in advance of your stay when you're able to begin making your dining reservations, so I would recommend having your vacation package booked no later than six months before your trip. Resort Hotel guests also have the advantage of making FastPass+ selections 60 days in advance of arrival, so make sure that everyone in your group has their Theme Park admission connected to their My Disney Experience accounts at least two months before the first day of your vacation. If you are traveling with a very large group that needs more than 10 rooms, you can contact Group Reservations at (407) 939-1942 and a Cast Member will help you organize accommodations for your party.

I hope this answers your question, Karen, and please let us know if there's anything else we can do to help you plan your magical vacation!
