Hi, we have a hotel reservation at the Waldorf Astoria but I am unable to link this reservation on the Disney app. I have the hotel confirmation number which I am using. Should I be able to link this? Or can only ‘Disney’ hotels be linked on the app? Thks

    Hi Robert!

Welcome to planDisney!  Your Walt Disney World Resort vacation is almost here!  Can you taste those delicious Disney treats yet?  In my opinion, a Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bar is the perfect way to start your summer vacation!

Robert, I haven't stayed at the Waldorf Astoria Orlando before, but I did stay at its neighboring property, the Signia by Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek, and had a chance to walk over to peek around your resort.  It is absolutely gorgeous and I think you'll love your time there!  Since you are staying at an Official Disney Partner Hotel, you can and should link your hotel reservation to your My Disney Experience account.  This will allow you to take full advantage of all the benefits you'll enjoy as a Guest there including Early Theme Park Entry - a big perk!

I actually ran into some issues linking my resort reservation at an Official Disney Partner Hotel earlier this year too and can share a few troubleshooting ideas.  First and foremost, sometimes it can take a few days for your reservation confirmation number at a partner hotel to connect with Disney.  I had to wait about 10 days after making my reservation before I was able to successfully link it to my account.  I've also heard from some of my UK planDisney panelist friends that certain features of the My Disney Experience Mobile App or website may be tricky to access while abroad.  If you have tried on your app, maybe try on your computer instead - or vice versa.  You also want to make sure that the confirmation number you have matches with Disney's system.  Sometimes hotels booked through a travel agency or third-party website may give a unique confirmation code for them which isn't the one that Disney uses.  If you used a travel agent to book your trip, you may try reaching out to them for assistance or you can call Disney directly and they will provide whatever assistance they can to help with linking your reservation!

Robert, I hope this information is helpful and that you enjoy a wonderful visit to Walt Disney World Resort in just a few weeks!  You are always welcome to be our guest here at planDisney if you have any other vacation planning questions!

    Cheers,
    Kristi
