I have a hotel reservation in my name for myself, my daughter, my friend and her daughter. I am trying to link the reservation to my Disney Experience account. Do I have to add my friend and her daughter to my friends and family list in order to do that?

Hey there, Renee, and welcome to planDisney! Thanks for stopping by the panel with your question!

The Family and Friends list is arguably one of the handiest tools we have at our disposal when planning Disney Vacations, second only to the My Disney Experience account itself! I always recommend that anyone who is visiting The Walt Disney World Resort make an account (and Family and Friends list) as it is truly a command center for the whole trip!

You can quickly link your friend and her daughter to your Family and Friends list via the My Disney Experience app or account. This will allow you each to coordinate plans, snag dining reservations, book Genie+ Lightning Lanes as a group, and more. You will also maintain the ability to make separate plans if you’d like. Once you link them in Family and Friends, you will be all set to link the reservation to your My Disney Experience account. I’ve found that linking people to a reservation is a lot easier on the front end than the back end, so it’s much safer to do this before linking. If you create your Family and Friends list and find that you’re still having trouble linking your reservation, you may need to speak to a Cast Member from the My Disney Experience team.

I hope this helps, Renee! If you have more questions while planning your Disney Vacation, stop back by and let me know

You’ve got a friend in me,
