Hi, Sandra!
When I sailed to Alaska on the Disney Wonder this year, our family sailed out of Vancouver and stayed a couple of nights before embarkation day. It really helped getting us all used to the new time zone, and there was much to see and do in the home port. You can see all my hints and tips in a 7-part series about this Disney cruise itinerary on
Disney Cruise Line News" YouTube Channel.
For a Seattle stay, I had to call my friends at Disney Cruise Line to get their recommendation. Information about the new Alaskan itineraries will be up soon on
DisneyCruise.com, but in the meantime, here's what they recommended for you:
Fairmont Olympic Hotel Seattle or Sheraton Seattle Hotel -- both are located approximately 3.5+ miles from the Smith Cove Cruise Terminal in downtown Seattle in the city’s prime downtown location, footsteps from many favorite attractions including the famous Pike Place Market, Space Needle and Seattle Art Museum. Tacoma International Airport is about 15 miles, 20 minute travel time.
I hope this helps you plan, and please let me know if you think of other questions before you sail. I'd be happy to help. Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
Andi
