Hiya, Bryce!
Welcome back to planDisney! It's always such a treat to help return Guests such as yourself maximize the magic of their upcoming vacations!
Since you are visiting Walt Disney World Resort during the month of August, I'm so glad you're making time for
Stormalong Bay. It consists of a massive aquatic complex that features a 230-foot water slide, sand bottom pools, and as you mentioned, a lazy river. With so many options to satisfy the whole family, it truly embodies Sebastian's motto that 'Darlin' it's better down where it's wetter'. No wonder it's considered by many to be the best swimming pool The Most Magical Place on Earth has to offer!
I recently spent hours drifting along
Waikohole Stream at Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa, so I can't wait to enjoy
Castaway Creek at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park during my next visit. Clearly, I've been fully converted to 'Team Lazy River'. How fortunate are you that there's one at your Disney Resort hotel?!? For safety reasons, Guests are unable to utilize their personal floats in Disney Resort hotel pools, but happily, there are complimentary floats available for use in the lazy river. A fellow panelist reported seeing plenty of donut-style and 'U'-shaped floats available for Guests during his last visit, so that's one less thing to worry about packing!
Did you know that planDisney recently launched a new
Resort Guide video series that kicked off with
Disney's Beach Club Resort? My pals Amy and Matt helpfully walk (and slide!) you through public areas, rooms, restaurants, pools, and amenities, so I encourage you to take the time to check it out before your arrival.
I hope this was helpful for you as you plan, Bryce. If any additional questions arise as your countdown to magic continues, don't hesitate to stop back by.
I'm always happy to help!Thinking Happy Thoughts,
Lizzie
