Hiya Joyce,
Welcome to planDisney! As a mom to an almost one-year-old, I have spent many hours thinking about how best to preserve my liquid gold for my little one. Unfortunately, I cannot give you a guarantee, but I’ll share what I have seen from my experience.
So let me start by saying in my experience, a Cast Member at Walt Disney World Resort Collection Hotels has been able to accommodate requests such as these for medical reasons and nursing mothers. One of my fellow panelists, Cindy, shared with me last year that in the past, Disney’s Pop Century Resort agreed to store labeled breastmilk (as long as it was in a waterproof, airtight container) in their freezer for a nursing mother until her departure. That said, these are anecdotal instances, and I wasn’t able to get a Cast Member to verify if this is standard practice across resorts. I recommend reaching out to a Cast Member in
Disney Resort Hotel Reservations before your stay to see if this is an option you can count on before you leave.
I wish I had a more definitive answer, Joyce, but I hope this can help put you on the right path. Before I let you go, have you heard about the
Baby Care Centers? Each of the four theme parks has its own dedicated Baby Care Centers where you can pump milk (you can also ask to have your pump stored there while you enjoy time throughout the parks), nurse, change your baby, and relax. It was an excellent place for me and my little one to escape the humidity, sit quietly, and decompress. In short, they were a lifesaver. The only thing that would make them sweeter was if you could store your breast milk there, but not at this time. Often moms will rent a
locker at the Theme Parks and keep a cooler with their expressed milk there so they don’t have to carry it around all day.
Happy Planning,
Ashley F.
