Which hotel is better the Polynesian or Animal Kingdom Lodge? This is our first Disney trip with a 5 year old Thanks

Hey, Liza and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

I just love the planning stages of a Walt Disney World Resort vacation. The mystery of adventure and the joy of taking your 5-year-old for the first time must have you excited "to infinity and beyond."

Between the two I prefer Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. Disney Parks with young explorers will bring lots of memories and some tired feet. While you can get to other theme parks by Walt Disney World Bus Service, Disney's Polynesian Village Resort has access to Magic Kingdom Park by Monorail and water taxi and, with a short walk, by monorail to Epcot. This easy access allows you to get back to your room to relax should you need a break or want pool time. Aside from the amazing Volcano Slide at the Lava Pool, you can see and hear the Happily Ever After fireworks from the beach at night. Kids love the beach and it is a perfect place to roast marshmallows by the campfire or see a Movie Under the Stars. South Pacific theming also brings two of my favorite restaurants: Kona Cafe and 'Ohana. At 'Ohana, Lilo and Stitch will make your 5-year-old giggle as they visit with Guests for breakfast (not dinner). What an amazing hotel!

Disney Dad Tip: Here are some great tips for preschoolers and a list of attractions that are perfect for 5-year olds.

Liza, enjoy making many Magical Memories.
