Hey there, Gwyndolette! Traveling to Disney with your multigenerational family is sure to create some life-long memories for everyone! We often travel with my mom, and she has the best time seeing Disney through the eyes of her grandchildren.
For a large family that includes both young kids and older adults, I’d recommend looking at
Disney’s Art of Animation Resort or one of the Deluxe Resorts with larger room options.
Art of Animation is wonderful because their Family Suites can sleep up to six and give you two bathrooms, a separate bedroom, and a living area that converts to extra sleeping space. The theming is bright, fun, and kid-friendly with favorites like Finding Nemo, The Lion King, and Cars. It’s also on the
Disney Skyliner, which makes getting to
EPCOT and
Hollywood Studios much easier, especially for those who want to avoid long bus rides.
If you want something with a more relaxed pace and closer proximity to the parks, consider
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort or
Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Both have larger rooms, convenient
dining, and easy transportation. The Polynesian has a calm, tropical vibe that’s great for older guests, while still being exciting for kids with its beach area and views of the
Magic Kingdom fireworks. The Contemporary and Polynesian are right on the Monorail, so you can get to Magic Kingdom in minutes.
Whichever you choose, I’d make sure you have easy transportation, multiple dining options, and enough space so everyone can be comfortable after those big park days.
You should also consider
Disney's All-Star Music Resort, as they have family suites that can accommodate up to six guests. They are very similar to the Art of Animation suites, but not as festive in the room decor.
Gwyndolette, if you have more specific questions about any of the resorts mentioned, please stop by and see me again. I'd be happy to give you more details regarding your upcoming Disney vacation.
Toodles,
Korliss
