Hello, Brooke, thank you for visiting planDisney with your question!
I have been visiting the
Walt Disney World Resort for over 30 years, starting with my parents and brother as a child and now continuing the tradition with my own family. My first visits were always spent at
Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside but back then it was called Disney’s Dixie Landings Resort. Since Disney’s Port Orleans – Riverside and
Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter are connected by the Sassagoula River, you can enjoy a nice walk on the path to explore whichever resort you are not staying in. Growing up, I would follow my nose to the French Quarter for a Mickey-shaped beignet!
The website for Disney’s Port Orleans – French Quarter currently states that the Doubloon Lagoon pool will be closed through April 2024 for routine maintenance, and unfortunately, after chatting with a friendly Cast Member, I confirmed that this includes the hot tub.
But rest assured, since the pool and surrounding area are temporarily closed, you can utilize the old-fashioned swimmin’ hole and sawmill slide at Port Orleans – Riverside, located on Ol’ Man Island. The island will have a hot tub to enjoy and
Muddy Rivers where you can order food and drinks. Try the Gata-Melon Juice, it is refreshing!
