We are hoping to have a WDW vacation in Sept. I like the Carribean Beach Resort but wonder 1) Would the construction be loud enough to disturb naptime (late afternoon; he's 4), and 2) How far is it exactly between bus stop to parks and pirate rooms?

    Hi Aoife,

Thanks for visiting Disney Parks Moms Panel.

There's a lot to look forward to at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort as all the new and exciting changes take place. From your question, I'm guessing you already know that currently the Resort is a hotbed — maybe "hotbeach" is more apt — of 3 major construction projects: the Old Port Royale transformation, the new Disney Skyliner, and the new Disney Vacation Club Disney Riviera Resort. When my son was 4, the only thing he loved more than watching big trucks was watching big trucks move big piles of dirt. So, it could be that your son will think that an entire resort with lots of construction will be the coolest vacation EVER!

A bright note is that the Pirate Rooms at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort are located in Trinidad South buildings 34-39, so if you're looking for a spot not right on top of construction, that could be a spot. The Resort map shows a bus stop next to building 36.

Your big question, Aoife, asks if the construction noise will be loud enough to disturb a nap, and I think only you know your little napper best. Does he sleep as soundly as the little Pirates of the Caribbean piggies. Will he sleep light and wake to ask "yo ho, yo ho what's that noise?"  My best suggestion, if you want to get some more information about the construction work and your stay, is to reach out to Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort at (407) 939-1822. Hopefully they can help give some on-site guidance.

    Enjoy your Disney!

Meet the Panelist: Jerry, Pennsylvania

The playful and creative optimism of all things Disney has enthralled me since I was a kid. I loved watching "The Wonderful World of Disney" on Sunday nights, seeing all the live-action and animated classics in theaters, and — of course — visiting "The Most Magical Place on Earth" for the first time 45 years ago. These days, the big kid in me still loves to play Disney. As a long-time Disney destinations vacationer, I'm looking forward to helping you play Disney starting here at planDisney!
