Hello, we are hoping to visit Disneyland next year. What are some tips for planning a first time adult trip there and are there suggested times to go (due to weather, crowds, events, etc.)? How far in advance should we book?

    Welcome to planDisney, Brittney!

Ever since I became a dad, I've absolutely adored taking my Mousketeers on Disney vacations. However, I have to admit, I really do miss an adult-only trip. There are fewer meltdowns (usually, anyway). You can cram so much more into your days. And you can actually enjoy your meals! I just know you're going to have a blast.

Brittney, it's tough to recommend the best time to go to the Disneyland Resort because there's really no bad time to visit. I love the Christmas season, with all the festive décor, merry music, and magical ambiance. The Halloween season is also really fun, especially if you can get tickets for Oogie Boogie Bash. However, for an adult-only trip, I would personally recommend visiting for Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival. This festival usually takes place in March and April at Disney California Adventure Park. You'll discover themed marketplaces throughout the park, offering delectable dishes and delicious drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic). There's also fantastic entertainment to enjoy too. I know that over the past couple of years they've even brought back fan-favorite, Soarin' Over California for this festival! I think the weather is perfect for this festival too. It's not too hot, but it's comfortable. The crowds should be ok, as long as you miss any major holidays. It's always great if you can visit when kids are still in school. Also, go during the week, instead of the weekend, if possible.

When it comes to booking, I would book as far in advance as possible. This is especially the case if you'd like to stay at a Disneyland Resort hotel, since they're very popular and book up fast.

I would also try and secure advance dining reservations 60 days in advance of your trip. Some great options for an adult-only trip would be Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar at the Disneyland Hotel, Oga's Cantina in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Disneyland Park, and Lamplight Lounge at Disney California Adventure Park.

I hope that's helpful, Brittney! Please stop by planDisney again if we can assist you further.

    See ya real soon!
