Hello - hoping to visit Animal Kingdom during the EEMH in October (we are staying onsite). If we arrive late eg 7.45am, is there a separate queue for onsite guests or do we need to wait with offsite guests queuing up to enter at 8am? Thank you!

    Hi Susan!

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

I love making use of Extra Magic Hours, available exclusively to Disney Resort hotel Guests, when we can enter the parks earlier than the regular opening hours, or stay for a few hours after park closing.   If you are intending to take advantage of extra Extra Magic Hours at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, during this time there will be separate entrances for Disney Resort hotel Guests, up until the park opens to everyone at 8.00am.  I would strongly recommend that you arrive as early as you can, to make the most of that special quieter time in the park.  I usually make my FastPass+ reservations outside of any Extra Magic Hours as the standby lines tend to be shorter during that first hour, possibly with the exception of Avatar Flight of Passage which is still extremely popular.  You can cover a lot of ground before the gates open at 8.00am.  FastPass+ reservations can be made up to 60 days in advance by using your My Disney Experience account.

If you are using Disney Transport, the buses will begin operating 45 minutes before park opening, so the first buses will be running from around 6.15am from your hotel to Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park.

Please come back and visit us if you have any further questions.  We will be happy to help you plan your magical holiday to Walt Disney World, and keep your eye on the Disney Parks Blog for all the latest official news and updates on any events that may be happening during your stay.
