Hiya Jill - welcome to
planDisney!
Thanks so much for stopping by with your very first question for our team of panelists!
Walt Disney World Resort recently made some exciting enhancements to the
Disability Access Service (DAS) with the goal of ensuring that
all Guests can enjoy a magical vacation. One of these updates is the ability for Guests like you to
pre-register for DAS Advance with a Cast Member virtually, using live video chat. As part of this process, the Cast Member will ask basic questions about your needs, and if approved, you will be able to book up to two one-hour return windows per day for select experiences in advance.
Once you are inside any Theme Park, you may also make additional DAS selections yourself, right within the
My Disney Experience Mobile App! When you make a selection, you'll be provided with a return time for that experience or attraction. Simply return to the Lightning Lane entrance any time after that return time! Once you use a selection you can make another one right away - these selections are completely separate from the two daily selections you'll make as part of DAS Advance.
If you are not able to pre-register, don't fret! You can still register for DAS at any
Guest Relations location at Walt Disney World Resort. If you do so at least two days prior to visiting a Theme Park, you will still be able to make the two advance selections. If you register in person on the day you visit a Theme Park, you'll be making self selections for return times in the My Disney Experience App only. For this reason, if you can find the time to pre-register, I suggest doing so!
To take advantage of pre-registration, you need to complete the process between two and 30 days prior to your first day in the Theme Parks. This new pre-registration process is extremely popular, so you may have a wait for your video chat. Once you login to your My Disney Experience account, go to the
DAS Registration page, scroll down and click to agree to the terms and conditions (you may be asked to login again), and then click the
Request Live Video Chat button. You may see a message below the button encouraging you to try back later due to extended wait times. This does
not mean that video chat is unavailable, however, it does indicate that your wait may be longer than normal. Once you click the button to request a video chat, you will be entered into a virtual queue. There is not currently an option to schedule an appointment for this process and you'll need to stay by your computer while you wait for a Cast Member, so you may want to plan accordingly.
I hope this information helps as you continue planning for your visit to the Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary Celebration!
Please let me know if any additional questions come up.
