Hello there, Janet!
I'd like to extend a warm welcome back to planDisney and a big thank you for dropping by with your question. Like you, I was thrilled about the announcement about runDisney races returning to The Happiest Place on Earth in 2024, and I, too, will be vying for a
Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend bib!
Janet, as a frequent Walt Disney World Resort visitor, I was surprised by the difference in scale of
Disneyland Resort. I loved that I could reach anywhere within the theme parks and surrounding Resort hotels on foot, without having to rely on buses or boats! While course maps haven't been released for the 2024 Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend races yet, historically, start and finish lines for Disneyland Resort races have been very close to the
Disneyland Resort hotels. Of these options, my personal favorite is the
Disneyland Hotel. The theming of this beautiful resort pays tribute to the original lands at Disneyland Park, and it features an incredible, sprawling
pool area with monorail-themed waterslides! One of the highlights during my recent stay was enjoying a drink at
Tangaroa Terrace Tropical Bar & Grill each evening. I can't think of a better way to celebrate your
Disneyland Half Marathon finish than by raising a glass at this tropical oasis! Janet, as a Disneyland Resort hotel Guest, you'll also enjoy special benefits like
early entry admission.
In case you're looking to explore additional options, there are plenty of phenomenal
Good Neighbor Hotels surrounding Disneyland Resort as well. I enjoyed a lovely stay at the
Hilton Anaheim last summer and appreciated its proximity to the theme parks. After chatting with some of the
Disneyland Resort specialists, it sounds like the
Howard Johnson Anaheim Hotel is among their top picks for Good Neighbor Hotels in the area.
Janet, whether you'll be visiting to partake in the Disneyland Half Marathon or just to enjoy the
Disney100 Celebration at Disneyland Resort, your trip is sure to be a magical one, no matter where you choose to stay! Be sure to make time for
World of Color - ONE at Disney California Adventure Park and
Wondrous Journeys at Disneyland Park, which have both recently debuted. Also, don't forget to bring your
MagicBand+, as they are now compatible at both Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort! I hope you have an unforgettable time during your trip and encourage you to come back to planDisney with any additional questions you may have. We're happy to help!
Magic awaits,
Lauren
