Hi, Marisa!
January is usually a nice time to travel to Walt Disney World as far as the crowds go. Kids are back to school after winter break, and spring break has not started yet. You will see it a bit more crowded around the
WDW Marathon weekend, and again it picks up a bit on the weekend around Martin Luther King Jr. Day, but overall crowds are very manageable.
OK - the downside! It is January, and even though it is Florida, it is still Winter. Once the sun goes down, it gets cold. Plan to bring your heavy coats from Ohio, as you may need them on some nights. Honestly, I have been to WDW in January when we have been swimming, and other times when we wore winter coats. You will just have to check the weather forecast before leaving home. Average temperatures will be somewhere in the 60's. Your best bet would be to book as late in the month as possible to get closer to some springtime weather!
You may find some refurbishment closings, but with so many attractions and activities, you will find plenty to keep you busy.
You will be able to book online for 2013 sometime in mid-summer so keep checking back. If after booking you find a better
