We are hoping to plan a trip to WDW as a celebration for my son overcoming an extreme illness. Are there any extra things we could to add to our trip to help celebrate his strength and determination?

    Hello L,

These are questions we truly get the privilege to get to answer, and I hope we can help to make the celebration a huge success for your son.

First, let everyone and anyone know about your celebration from when your make your reservation to when you make your dining reservations. You'll also want to grab free buttons that read "I'm Celebrating....." for everyone in your party to share your exciting news with everyone. Then, don't hesitate to let all the characters know as well when your son is meeting them; they will certainly want to celebrate with him as well.

If you'd like to splurge, you can arrange for a celebration cake to be made for him by calling 407-827-2253. You could also have an in-room celebration through Disney Floral and Gifts.  One particular package is entitled "My Magical Triumphs." Another celebration can be done through a speciality cruise; again: they specifically offer Celebration Cruises.  If your son is a pirate fan, the whole family may also enjoy the Pirates and Pals Fireworks Voyage; Disney's Family Magic Tour is also loads of fun to mark a celebration. We've also worked with to help create surprises for our children.

I hope you are in WDW with your family and wonderful son soon to celebrate!
