We were hoping that our Mother could go to Disneyland for her 91 B-day with her 3 grandsons. Since 1965 she has watched the fireworks from her Anaheim home and calls the fireworks Walt Disney's good night kisses to her. Anything special we can do?

    Hiya, Brian!

Indeed, the Fireworks at Disneyland Park are the perfect kiss goodnight for Walt’s guests. I love the thrill and nostalgic emotions that these fantastic shows evoke. The recent return of the Disneyland Forever fireworks show makes this an even better time to visit the Disneyland Resort. This amazing show chronicles the beginnings of Disneyland Park in 1955 and takes you on a journey along with some of your favorite Disney characters and music.

In my opinion, the best way to experience the fireworks at Disneyland Park is with a double feature. That is, watch both Fantasmic! and Disneyland Forever in one sitting. The earlier showing of Fantasmic! is usually followed by the fireworks presentation. Since the Disneyland Forever projections are also shown on the water screens of the Rivers of America, this is the perfect location to catch both of these evening spectaculars. If you really want to make it a special evening, I highly recommend booking a Fantasmic! Dining Package. With a dining package reservation, you are assured a place in a reserved viewing area. My favorite is the Blue Bayou Restaurant package, that includes viewing from the center section adjacent to the waterfront. And, of course, the package includes a fabulous three-course meal inside one of the most iconic attractions developed by Walt Disney: Pirates of the Caribbean. Or you may be interested in premium seating at the patio of the River Belle Terrace.  Note that Fireworks shows are subject to change or cancellation due to weather conditions.

It sounds like your mother is a big fan of Walt Disney. She may also be interested in learning even more about Walt and perhaps visiting some special locations associated with him on the "Walk in Walt's Disneyland Footsteps" Guided Tour. My wife and I have loved going on this amazing tour two times now. We have been so pleased with the experience of literally following in Walt’s footsteps to learn more about the creation of the Happiest Place on Earth: Disneyland.

Happy birthday to your mother! Have a magical time, Brian,
